Election night brought an exciting new chapter for Worthington. I’m thrilled to see voters choose a City Council that reflects both our community’s diversity and our shared commitment to thoughtful progress. Congratulations to Joycelyn Dong, Maria Ramirez, Glen Pratt, and Rebecca Hermann — the four candidates elected to serve our city.
Each of them ran strong, positive campaigns grounded in support for smart growth, expanded housing options, and continued investment in strong city services. Their collective energy, ideas, and lived experiences will bring valuable perspectives to the work ahead.
As I complete my time on Council, I’ve reflected often on what it has meant to serve alongside a group of strong, capable women who led with collaboration, respect, and heart. It has been a privilege to work together in that spirit — and I’m proud that Worthington will continue to build on that legacy. When the new Council takes office in January, five of the seven members will be women, including two women of color — a historic milestone for our city and a reflection of the values of inclusion and representation that make Worthington stronger.
It’s also notable that the four winning candidates — who share a constructive vision for managing growth — earned clear support from voters, leading by wide margins. This result signals that residents want a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented Council focused on working together to make Worthington more welcoming, sustainable, and vibrant for all.
Change always brings transition, but I believe this one will move our city toward a healthier tone of discussion — one grounded in partnership and shared purpose. Worthington’s best days are ahead.
