If the croc has no other genes, gradient will color half the body either starting at the nose or starting at the tail tip.
Gradient is a modifier gene that affects another marking, doing one of three things;
1. Fade/blend a marking into the base coat.
2. Add another color/heavy nuance to a marking. The added color must follow color rules and be within the same color group as the marking it is modifying.
3. Reverses the "lighter/darker than base" marking rule of a marking, allowing "lighter than basecoat" genes to be darker than the base and "darker than the basecoat" genes to be lighter!
In it's dom form gradient can affect up to two markings or can affect the base and one marking.
Gradient cannot affect mandatory white markings.
