Young Bulls/males are know to form bachelor bands till they form their own pack.
The Cows/females are the ones who decide on the territory, sometime even sharing locations with another pack if there's plenty of resources. The more eyes that are about the safer the nest and younger welp's are.

It is not uncommon for croc studs/males to stand on their hind legs to perform a defensive display to rivals studs/males. They will measure their sizes before engaging in fighting. But sometimes its better to scare the opponent off to avoid injury.
