Slaves were forced to labour on plantations and farms in regions like the Caribbean and Aemrica. Rice, cotton, sugar cane, tobacco and coffee. were among crops they farmed. Because of their sale or shipment to European factories to be processed into other goods they were called raw materials.
The more the farms produced, the more land and slaves the owners wanted. A large portion of the crops especially cotton where shipped to New England and used in textile mills. This contributed to the wealth of Europe and America, but it was based on the labour and suffering of African people (SAHO, 2015).
