Terentiland Unanimously Confirmed as IM

April 10, 2020

The HOC (House of Commons) after voting on the Education Act has now moved onto the confirmation of Terentiland as Interior Minister, after Prime Minister Korsinia, consulted cabinet decided to fire the than Interior Minister United States of Edingbridge. The hearing saw many questions asked about Terentiland plans for the ministry particularly about new departments, agency his plan on keeping, reforming and establishing and on RMB management and more.

Like MP Pap Sculgief question on RMB management, there is also MP Zon island question on the Environment Department which Terentiland plans on trying out.

Pap Sculgief: "Terentiland, what’s your opinion on RMB management?"

His response was: "I believe that our approach to managing the RMB needs to be two-fold. The first component needs to be preventing unwanted behavior (negativity, illicit posts, spamming, etc). That facet would be dealt with through the Law Enforcement Agency, in specific, by the Onsite Law Enforcement Officers. That being said, the second component needs to be encouraging positive activity (friendly conversation, lively debate, welcoming atmosphere, etc.). That facet would be managed by the Regional Welfare Agency and the Welcome Office which would both play a role in cultivating that community spirit on the RMB."

Zon island: "Terentiland can you explain this Environment department you plan on forming"

His response was: "This is another idea that I am going to be looking into after my confirmation for all of the people who want to see Thaecia do more work promoting environmental causes. It would work to educate, inform, and inspire Thaecians about protecting the environment. This would be another thing that we would try out. If it works well we would continue it and if it falters or people don't like it, we will abolish it."

The hardest question probably came from MP Cerdinia on whether Terentiland draft for the ministry was too enormous and on the whether it could be maintained with efficiency:

"Being rather honest here, while this all sounds good and great, after looking at the proposed structure it's easy to realise that the proposal being made by the nominee is enormous to be handled by a single ministry. Bureaucrats here and there, positions and more positions, quite frankly it all appears unnecessary and if put into practice won't be maintained with efficiency. I'll probably be abstaining from this vote, while Terentiland shows experience for the post I believe his proposal of how a ministry such as interior should work is at a point in which he is doing stuff that his ministry shouldn't do in the first place."

His response was, "MP Cerdinia, I always admire your honesty.

I agree with you that the proposed structure is big, and I can see how you are concerned that it is an overreach of the Interior Ministry's duties. But what you have to keep in mind, is that a significant portion of what is on that breakdown might not ever be implemented, or might be implemented and then abolished if it doesn't seem to be necessary.

As far as efficiency goes, I will not afraid to dispose of inefficiencies. If something isn't working effectively, I will make decisive changes may it be firing, warning, or working with inefficient or incompetent leaders/workers, or changing/abolishing unnecessary or ineffective branches.

You mentioned my experience, and on that topic, I am proud to say I ran the electoral commission with incredible efficiency. I remember in the first 24 hours alone as EC, I began the Congressional Snap Election CDP, published a new factbook, made a new logo, created a new secure Gmail account, and started getting people registered to vote with new, more secure voter codes alone. Immediately, I singlehandedly ran the election which filled 10 empty seats in Congress. So with all of the talented and experienced and dedicated leaders, that will be a part of this ministry, you better believe the Interior Ministry will be more efficient than you can possibly imagine."

Terentiland was successfully confirmed with 11 Ayes, 0 Nays and 0 Abstain.
