What is FIRST?

FIRST is a nonprofit with a mission to "inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership" First hosts three different age level events. First, there's a competition for ages 4 - 16 called First Lego League or FLL. The next league up is First Tech Challenge, or FTC, is a program where 7-12 graders can expand their skills in the STEM field. Each team consists of up to 15 members and our team, The Taco Terminators, is an FTC team. Lastly, is the First Robotics Competition, or FRC. FRC has ages consisting of 14 - 18. FRC members build and program industrial-size robots to do challenges.
