DFSPA drives learners to the main purpose of attending journalism for the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC)
OROQUIETA CITY, PHILIPPINES - During the mock press conference, the Division Federated School Paper Advisers (DFSPA) Oroquieta urged learners to target the goal of going to Cagayan de Oro (CDO) for this coming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).
In a speech of the DFSPA President, Arvin Lou A. Oñez II, said on Wednesday that the journalists' journey to CDO is to get the gold for champion to represent Oroquieta City Division in the National Schools' Press Conference (NSPC) in Cebu City.
"If you are motivated to go to other places, journalism is the avenue. Paningkamot sa RSPC made it to the top 1, and we will assure you to go to other places like Cebu," he encouraged.
He reminded the journalists' to keep in mind that, as journalists, the goal is to represent Oroquieta City in the field of journalism with no other purpose.
"You have to instill in your minds that you will be going to CDO not for fun but to represent Oroquieta City Division," Oñez professed to leaners
Arvin Lou emphasized the purpose of joining journalism activities and travels, saying that those are bonuses to the journey as a campus journalist.
"Kung mag enjoy man tayo sa travel, ma enjoy man tayo sa activities like what you called laag laag, those are only bonuses and never ever go away with the purpose of journalism," he continued.
DFSPA highlighted to journalists that the journey to CDO is not just for fun but also a manifestation of journalistic skills and, at the same time, life lessons.
