DFSPA prompts learning language to enhance journalistic skills

DFSPA President, Arvin Lou A. Oñez II highlighted that as a journalists language is only a pre requisite skill to become a good journalist
The Division Federated School Paper Advisers (DFSPA) of Oroquieta City president clarified on Wednesday, February 22, that language is a must for every journalist as it is a primary skill in the field of journalism.
During the mock press conference held at Misamis Occidental National High School (MONHS) covered court, DFSPA President Arvin Lou A. Oñez II professed to journalists that language is a crucial requirement to enhance the students' journalistic skills.
"Language is a pre-requisite in the nature of journalism; it is just a pre-requisite. And it is not enough. The moment you learn these language skills, you need to learn them and apply them in the field of journalism," he clarified to students.
In his speech, he reminds the learners that continuous practice of language skills together with the journalistic skills can lead to become a good journalists," The secret there is practice, practice, and practice."
Oñez encouraged learners that they must make journalism a part of their daily activities through seeking new informations on social media.
"Go away with the trend that you will only practice when it is already journalism season, and then after journalism season, kalimutan si journalism, watching news reports and reading news para mas ma enhance jud," he emphasized.
He ended that as a student journalists continuous engagement of informations in social media could be a good practice to further maximize the learnings in journalistic skills.
