Bio: Mel was constantly looked down and often ignored, as part of the royal Faeyir family, there was only great things expected of the children, especially the eldest, Sardeyr. Who became a great wizard and was destined to lead the family and the kingdom. Their mother, Frenella Lesrora Faeyir, queen of the largest and richest nation in the realm of Aesteamos, the Faeyir Kingdom, ruled by Frenella, a high elf of such beauty, grace, and the most powerful cleric known to the land of Aesteamos. Frenella fell in love with a human man of no such royalty, however as a powerful Artificer, the citizens were fine with their lovely queen marrying him. His name was Rufus and he fell deep in love with the lovely Frenella, and they soon married, having many children the following years. Rufus often was in an out of the house, constantly on the go, and always traveling, discovering new lands, creatures and hunting exotic and dangerous creatures for the sake of the kingdom. Rufus was never home much, however when he was, he often brought gifts for his children. While he was out, Frenella would focus her time on perfecting her older children and neglecting the younger ones, mostly Mel. Even though Mel was one of the few who actually sought to follow in their mother’s footsteps and becoming a Cleric.
When their father would come to visit from his excursions, he would spend the most time with Mel, simply because her older siblings were too caught up in a competition for their mother’s attention that they did not think spending time with Rufus was worth the time. So, Mel often stayed up late listening to his stories and his adventures across the lands, and he often brought Mel gifts unlike anything she has ever seen. Including a strange bone mask from the skull of a great beast. Mel idolized her father, and loved hearing stories from beyond her kingdom, since she was not permitted to leave the palace property in fear that she would ruin the kingdom’s public image. Mel felt trapped and her only way to get a glimpse of the outside was through her father, who she loved unconditionally. However, he was rarely home, and when he was out, Frenella was terrible to Mel, ignoring her, avoiding her, and often degrading her to her face. Her older siblings often joined in on the mockery and Mel couldn’t take any more, shortly after turning 16, she left. Mel spends 4 years on the road, traveling and staying alive by healing the poor and disadvantaged for food or a place to sleep for the night. She legally changed her name to Mel, instead of her real, longer name. Mel found comfort in her freedom to do whatever she wanted, she was freed from her own identity.
Then shortly after Mel turned 20, her older sister’s raven found her to deliver a note, it read:
“Dear Melantha,
Come to the castle, this is an emergency, it is about your father”
Signed,
Frenella”
Mel rushed to the palace and ran straight to the throne room where all her siblings were gathered for the first time in years. They all looked at Mel with disdain and disgust, as expected. Frenella was quick to explain that their father, Rufus, was late to return, Frenella was worried, however Mel was even more so. Thus, Frenella had requested that all her children must go out and find Rufus, and whoever could bring him back alive and well, would be given the honor of ruling the kingdom. No one expected Mel to accomplish such a feat, but she knew she had to, because she knows Rufus better than anyone. So, all the siblings departed in hopes to find Rufus. Shortly after leaving the kingdom for the first time, Mel was transported somewhere she did not recognize. Little did she know, this new land was not only what she was in search for, but exactly what she needed.
After coming to this work she not only discovered the love of her life and husband, Arthur, but also found her father and herself, leaning to be truely independent of her family and to start a family of her own with Arthur, the son of the evil ruler over the Maldorian empire. Mel travels with the Reclaimers in hopes to bring this new world to a better place and to restore peace and happiness to the people.
