October 14, 2020: Women in the Resistance Series with Dr. James Bertsch
I was featured in the Women of the Resistance series with Dr. James Bertsch.
"The Women in the Resistance is a series of 1-1 interviews conducted by Suffolk County activist and educator Dr. James Bertsch, with female leaders awakened by the anti-Trump Resistance. Some of these women started working to create a climate of social justice before Trump. Not a monolith, the causes these leaders advocate for are diverse. All are committed to expelling Trump from the White House. Yet they all know the agenda of hate Trump embodies is more diffuse and more deeply entrenched than in the office of one President. Each woman works to counter these forces with an agenda they feel will make their neighborhoods, our nation and our world a better place."

June 16, 2020: The Resistance and Me Zoom Book Talk with Canio's Books
On Tuesday, June 16 at 5 p.m. in a Zoom event, Journalist Barbara Weber- Floyd presented "The Resistance and Me: An Insider’s Account of the Two-Year Mission to Stop the Trump Agenda and Take Back the House."
Weber-Floyd looked back on the Women's March and the 2018 election, and discussed how those experiences speak to the moment we are in today; both with the #BLM protest movement and November's election.
Participants had two options of joining; through Zoom, where participants were able to ask questions and on Canio's Facebook page where they livestreamed the Zoom event.

April 23, 2020: Letter to the Editor, Southampton Press - How We Got Here
In my latest letter to the editor in our local newspaper, The Southampton Press, I remind voters that the federal government's disastrous response to this pandemic did not start this year and it did not start with Trump.
Yes, Trump has made everything worse by denying the crisis and delaying a federal plan. But his attacks on pandemic preparedness have been going on since he was inaugurated and the GOP mission of weakening the ACA and gutting federal agencies began much earlier and then accelerated with Trump as president. Come November, we must hold them all accountable.

Hello everyone! Posting my letter to the editor in The Southampton Press from last week. It was also included on the website Resist and Replace. We must all keep pressing Congressman Zeldin to answer questions about when was he first informed in Congress about how dangerous this epidemic could be and why didn't he inform us here in his district so we could prepare. I like the title the Press assigned to the letter: Where Were You?
