Samantha was my Godsend. I had the honor of having her as my doula for my home water birth. I met her a couple months before my due date and I immediately knew she was special and we connected right away. From the beginning she was knowledgeable, attentive to my needs and gave me confidence in myself and in us as a team. She went above and beyond every step of the way. She was there with me in early labor and gave me the assurance I needed to feel confident and ready. During active labor she knew just exactly what to do to comfort me and relieve my pain (hip squeezes for the win!) and had amazing stamina the whole time through. She was a positive force and reassured me that I was doing well even when I didn't think I was and that's exactly what I needed. The saying goes "I couldn't have done it without you.". Well I would have had to if she hadn't been there but I don't even want to think about how much harder it would have been without her. I didn't have a doula for my first birth and this was my second. I can tell you the difference is exponential! She has also been there for me postpartum to help me with the same dedication and enthusiasm. Anyone would be beyond blessed to have her at their birth and I feel absolutely fortunate I found her! 4/7/2021
Sam was my doula for my third birth, and first homebirth. We first ever talked when she was actually pregnant with her second baby, and I hired her for my birth as she approached her own first homebirth. She kept up with my pregnancy even during her postpartum and was so helpful, and so supportive. Having her there during my pregnancy was so wonderful! She came over to our home and took the time to get to know me, my past births and also get to know my kids. She brought me herbs for postpartum baths, tea, oils and I actually borrowed her birth pool. So much went into the care and time she took to be supportive for me. When labor finally did come around I called her fairly early on, and she came even though labor was still a bit early, because I felt I wanted extra support there. She packed up with her sweet baby and headed my way, and was such a calming presence to have. She did counter pressure and rubbed my back (my third back labor) and was so encouraging. When I went into my zone and started leaning on my husband she was still there, quietly encouraging, offering drinks or food. Helping with the birth pool, and just being there to hold space for me. She took videos for me as my son was being born, and when he finally came, she prepped a postpartum porridge for me to have later after I had rested. Also, her sweet baby slept the whole labor, and I still just think it is so amazing having women there, them with their own babies, supporting and holding space, not having to be separated from their own kiddos. She visited the next day as well and brought flowers, helped us try and figure out how to undo the birth pool lol. She brought me homemade soup, bone broth, and just made sure I was cared for and well nourished. She was an amazing doula, and I can't wait to watch her become a midwife! So glad we crossed paths
I was at a shared birth with Sam recently, my first with her.... she was everything I ever want a doula to be... supportive, attentive, respectful, knowledgeable about her client... great stamina, and a positive cheerleader with positive vibes and suggestions. Anyone would be blessed to have her at their birth. Thankyou., Sam. 3/12/2021
