Being at the nexus of STEM, hip hop, and student identity, our work uses STEM and computer science to explore elements of Hip Hop with youth who are underrepresented in STEM and computer science. Students learn about the history of Hip Hop and also explore MCing/Rap, DJing, Graffiti art, and B-Boying. They are then provided opportunities to use STEM and computer science as tools of innovation and exploration by creating artifacts that relevant to hip hop. Below are examples of our published works including articles, conference presentations, and more.
