My passion for table tennis began at age six, when my family bought an outdoor table. Soon thereafter, I joined the local club and progressed to playing in the highest national cadet and junior leagues in my native Denmark, though never breaking into the top 40 of my age group. With college looming, I quit the sport for nearly twenty years during which I earned a Ph.D. degree and became a chemistry professor in the US. In 2014, my yearning for the sport grew too strong, and I try to hit the practice hall or play against my robot 3-5 times per week. Since returning to table tennis, I have enjoyed combining my analytical skills with my passion for the sport, testing and reviewing a wide range of table tennis equipment.

Clips from practice sessions and matches:
Here are a couple of shots during a recent test session in which I used the Tibhar Bernadette Szocs Signature I. This is a minimally edited video in which I was "searching" for good camera angles.
A couple of representative shots while testing the Stiga DNA Pro H (in FH). For the review of this rubber, click HERE.
During the summer of 2017 - following two hip surgeries - I treated myself to a training camp led by Stellan and Angie Bengtson, where I had the privilege to practice with Daryl Sterling Jr, a top US-para player. Here is a fun point from our practice session.
At the end of a long 2017 US Open, I and my good friend Caden Xue had the fun experience playing (and winning) a team match against Adam Bobrow and Gucchy from WRM-TV. Gucchy got the better of me in our singles match but next time I will be ready for him :)
Following out match at the 2017 US Open, Gucchy from WRM-TV made a tutorial on my Tomahawk serve. All my secrets are revealed...if you understand Japanese that is :)
