Thai Yoga Massage is a traditional form of bodywork rooted in ancient Thai healing practices and influenced by yoga, meditation, and mindful touch. Often described as "lazy yoga," or having yoga done to you, this practice invites the recipient into a deeply restorative experience where the body is gently guided, supported, and stretched, as you, the client, effortlessly receive.
This modality works holistically with the body, breath, and subtle energy lines (called sen lines in the Thai tradition). It uses rhythmic compression, gentle pressure, and assisted stretching to help release tension, improve mobility, and support overall well-being. It encourages the nervous system to settle, inviting a sense of calm, clarity, and embodied presence.
Each session is offered with care and intention and each recipient is held in love and respect. As the practitioner, I move the client's body into yoga-like poses while remaining attuned to the needs, comfort levels, and physical limitations of the individual. Communication is key and consent is honored as we create a session in which the recipient feels nurtured and supported, allowing the body to soften and unwind.
What to Expect During a Session:
You will remain fully clothed. It is important to wear comfortable clothing you can easily move in, like a t-shirt and sweatpants or leggings.
Sessions take place on a pad on the floor and do require a degree of mobility on your part. You must be able to get up and down from the floor on your own and tie your own shoes.
I will use my hands, arms, feet, elbows--my whole body--to support and guide yours through the session.
Stretching is always guided and adapted to your comfort and range of motion. Pressure is guided by your needs and preferences as well.
Sessions are calm, respectful, and professionally held. Communication and in-the-moment feedback is welcome and encouraged.
Thai Yoga Massage may be especially beneficial for those experiencing stress, stiffness, fatigue, or a desire to feel more at home in their bodies. Many people leave sessions feeling relaxed yet energized, open yet grounded, often describing a lasting sense of balance and ease.
This practice is provided solely for wellness, relaxation, and stress relief. It is not a substitute for medical care, but rather is a supportive modality that complements a holistic approach to health and self-care.
Whether you are new to bodywork or a seasoned yoga practitioner, Thai Yoga Massage offers a unique opportunity to slow down, receive, and reconnect with your body, heart, and mind in a gentle and meaningful way.
