What are Scholarships?

Scholarships are designed to support local youth players who are passionate about chess and committed to participating in the opportunities made possible through the scholarship. Our goal is to build a strong, active, and supportive youth chess community where players can learn, compete, and grow together.  

Scholarships can provide:

• ChessKid Gold Membership Scholarship (lessons and unlimited puzzles unlocked)

• USCF Membership Scholarship (intended for participating in community tournaments with The Pawn Project)

• Community Tournament Entry Fee Scholarship (intended for participating in community tournaments with The Pawn Project)

Scholarships for ChessKid Gold memberships, tournament entry fees, and USCF memberships are available on a limited basis to any youth who have attended any in-person event held by The Pawn Project.
