About the Owner/
My name is Anne Reiman and I am the owner and head teacher of The Nest Early Learning Center. I have been a full-time licensed educator for grades prek-2nd for the past eight years in Ohio, South Korea and Guatemala. I hold a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Miami University and a M.Ed. in Special Education from Kent State University. I completed my student teaching in Australia and have participated in various mission trips both locally and abroad. For the past 7 years, I have been studying Reggio-inspired programs and have taught at a school that valued Reggio-inspired learning, STEAM and project-based learning. I have always had a dream to open my own school and in September of 2018, that dream came true! Reggio-inspired programs are rare and Reggio programs that are also Christ-centered are almost non-existent in our area. The Nest is the only Christ-centered and Reggio-inspired preschool in all of Summit County. I reside in Silver Lake with my husband (Danny), two sons (Charlie and Theodore), and dog (Dexter)!
Morning Teacher Assistant:
My name is Karen Alberson. I studied Early Childhood Education and Family and Consumer Studies at Kent State University. I worked many years teaching children from infancy to school-age. The last 19 years I have been a full-time mom to 3 wonderful teenagers. My passion is music and I love to sing.
Afternoon Teacher Assistant & Zumba Instructor:
My name is Tiffany Kotopka. I have a Bachelor's degree in both Theater Arts and Early Childhood Education. I have been working with children from birth through primary school for 13 years. I have primarily worked with infants and toddlers and currently teach English to Chinese children online. I have a love of all things artistic and after 6 years of attending Zumba classes I became licensed in both adult and children classes. I also started a small candle business as a way to explore my creative side. I have been married to my husband for 7 years and we have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. We, along with our 7 month old pitbull puppy, love to go for walks, sing everything we do and dance like crazy in the kitchen. We can almost always be found doing something fun or creative. I am looking forward to meeting all of the children this school year and helping them find their most creative sides.
Extended Morning Care Teacher:
My name is Cheryl Shuber. I have been married to my wonderful husband Tim for 35 years. We have five adult children. They are Ben, Rose, Katie, Heidi, and Aaron. We are both very excited to become grandparents for the first time in January 2020. While raising my own children I kept very busy. I was a nanny for a number of Akron Public School teachers' children, a nanny for a local family for six continuous years, and later volunteered at my child’s preschool. I also worked in a daycare for the past fifteen years. I am very excited to meet and get to know your children and families!
