** Submissions are closed **
What do you think of when you hear the word fungi? Are you inspired to write a poem, draw a mycelial network, submit a mushroom photo? We are accepting submissions of donated art that is fungal-themed, original and in a ready-to-hang format of any medium. You can submit original artwork as the artist, donate another's artwork with the appropriate accreditations, or submit a high resolution copy of an original piece. All artwork must link to fungi in some capacity in order to be considered for display in the February 2023 gallery.
Physical and Digital Artwork Guidelines
Artwork should be original pieces that are recent creations. Physical pieces should ideally be no larger than 24"x24". For digital pieces, pixel resolution needs to be exactly 300 dpi. (Printed size will be maximum 24"x24".)
What happens after I submit?
We will contact you within 3-5 business days via email to discuss the logistics of including your artwork in the gallery. We, as the curators, reserve the right to decline pieces that do not fit into the theme of fungi. Our email will include the address to send your art, any questions of clarification, and confirm your submission as the original artist and/or a donator.
Shipping
We will not be covering the cost of shipping.
What does ready-to-hang mean?
We require all framed items as well as unframed stretched canvases to have appropriate hanging materials on the back. Any 2D art must be framed and any 3D art that is intended to be hung on the wall must have a sturdy and easy to understand hanging mechanism.
Do not use EYE HOOKS as fasteners and NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS! Bent nails, screws and screws with washers are also unacceptable.
Spread the word!
If you know anyone who might be interested in submitting their art to the Mycological Menagerie, please share this flyer with them.
