We are the youth. We took Action. We are getting safer crossings.
The level train crossings in Weston-Super-Mare are extremely dangerous and have caused multiple deaths.
The safety regulations of these level crossings are minimal, a small non-locking gate is the only thing that protects a person from a passing train. There is no warning system.
Petitions have been signed, regularly after a death has occurred, but nothing has happened. The Council and the Network Rail did done nothing to improve the safety conditions at these level crossings... until we got involved.
We are raising awareness to stay safe around level crossings wherever they are, nationwide.
We demanded a change, we got results. In Weston-super-Mare, these level crossings: Corondale Road; Finch Close will now change, and be safe in the future.
