Teacher Resources

On this page teachers will find a series of embedded documents which can be used in support of their use of this project in their classrooms.

The first document is the Teacher Resources, which includes an introduction to the project, teacher guide, standards alignment, learning objectives, suggested task timeline, approaches and differentiation, assessment guidance, extension suggestions, and a list of standards. 

To be clear, for a teacher to use the banners in the classroom, they do not have to use the following resources.  Teachers are the experts who best know their students; use the banners as you think will most help them understand the significance of the Declaration of Independence over time, and today.  The only thing to note would be that if your students intend to submit their project/paper to the competition, they will be assessed using the KSDE Rubric, so if you plan to have them complete a project, it would benefit them if you tailor it to the rubric.

Student Packet

The student packet contains the instructions for the inquiry activity, guiding questions for the banners, and guidance for completion of the project.
