Malia Burris is an expressive arts facilitator and certified therapeutic sound practitioner who supports others in cultivating presence, emotional clarity, and self-expression through creative and embodied practices.
Weaving together practices of sound meditation, mindfulness, and the expressive arts—such as painting, journaling, and creative sound sessions—she guides clients into a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them.
Malia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from Millersville University, along with a certificate in Expressive Arts. She is a graduate of the Soundwise School of Harmonic Therapy, where she deepened her study of sound as a vehicle for emotional release, nervous system regulation, and collective care.
Her work has grown from powerful personal experiences and years of community engagement, supported by her time with Lone Oak Animal-Assisted Therapeutic & Educational Services, where she explores equine-assisted therapy and nature-based practices. Rooted in her Hawaiian ancestry and her professional work in Pennsylvania, Malia’s perspective is shaped by land, lineage, and lived experience. Her offerings reflect a deep respect for the natural world and a commitment to making space for rest, reflection, and meaningful connection.
Through group sessions, workshops, and creative gatherings, Malia creates welcoming, reflective spaces for people of all backgrounds to slow down, listen inward, and explore their rhythms of wellness and expression.
