Protected Voices

Before submitting your creative piece, please read the following carefully.

By submitting to Protected Voices, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Alias Use & Privacy

• All submissions must be sent under an alias (pen name).
• Do not include your real name inside the body of your writing.
• Do not include identifying details such as school names, addresses, phone numbers, or social media handles.
• TLITD will not publish real names without written parental permission (if under 18).

Your safety and privacy are prioritized here.

2. Content Guidelines

Protected Voices is a trauma-informed, moderated space.

Submissions may not include:

• Graphic descriptions of abuse or violence
• Explicit sexual content
• Hate speech or slurs
• Naming or targeting real individuals in a harmful way
• Threats, revenge-based writing, or doxxing
• Content intended to shock rather than express

Heavy themes may be expressed - but they must be handled with care.

If a submission requires light editing for safety or clarity, TLITD may suggest edits before publication.

3. Review & Approval

• All submissions are reviewed before being posted.
• TLITD reserves the right to decline any submission that does not align with safety standards.
• Submission does not guarantee publication.

If a piece is not approved, it will remain private and will not be shared publicly.

4. Usage & Sharing

By submitting, you grant The Lioness in the Darkness permission to:

• Publish the piece on the TLITD website
• Share excerpts on TLITD social media
• Include the work in future compilations or projects

All work will remain credited to your chosen alias.

You retain ownership of your writing.

5. Mandatory Reporting

If a submission contains credible disclosure of ongoing abuse or immediate danger involving a minor, TLITD is legally obligated to follow mandated reporting guidelines.

This space is protected - but it is not exempt from safety laws.
