A 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting schools and families navigating internet trauma, emotional harm, and digital danger.
My name is Brie. What began as a personal mission has grown into something rooted and real - an officially recognized nonprofit with one purpose: helping families and schools face the dark with courage, compassion, and conversation.
Through storytelling, trauma-informed resources, and supportive community spaces, we help families build stronger bonds, start safer conversations, and reclaim their voices in a world that too often silences them.
Whether you’re here to protect the children in your life, heal your inner child, or make sense of the online chaos impacting us all - you belong here.

What We're Working On
October 2026:
October is a month for courage, awareness, and conversations that matter.
At The Lioness in the Darkness, we’re continuing to create spaces where families can learn, young people can be heard, survivors can feel less alone, and communities can talk openly about the things that are sometimes hardest to name.
The Den of the Lionhearted
Our Teen Advisory Council continues its first season together, giving young people a real voice in the resources, conversations, and projects we create for teens.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Online safety isn’t just about passwords and privacy settings - it’s about helping families understand the digital spaces where young people actually live, connect, learn, and grow.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Throughout October, we’ll continue making room for survivor-centered conversations about safety, healing, healthy relationships, and what it means to be believed.
Bullying Prevention Month
Bullying doesn’t stop at the school doors. We’ll be talking about the places where in-person and online harm overlap - and how adults can respond without taking a young person’s voice away.

More conversations are coming from Unmuted by The Lioness in the Darkness, including the stories, questions, and topics that deserve more than a quick scroll.
October also marks another year since the earliest beginnings of The Lioness in the Darkness.
What started as a voice in the dark continues to grow into something bigger: resources, conversations, school and community connections, youth voices, survivor spaces, and a village determined to keep showing up.
