August saw the start of a new sports media site and we caught up with Darren Donoghue, local Resident and freelance sports journalist, to find out more about Boyne Sports Journalism.
In our Sports Section you'll find articles on local sporting clubs and in our Side Menu you can filter through over 50 Navan based activities which provide a fantastic opportunity to participate locally. The amount of weekly Match and Competition reports should be enough to fill a newspaper but they don't. Local clubs do they're best to engage parents and coaches to write reviews but it's not something many undertake.

What prompted you to start this new media site?
I set up Boyne Sports Journalism to promote local sports and sports events across the north east, as I feel the local media don't have enough time to cover the local sports. I got the name from our famous river that runs through Meath, the river Boyne.

We cover mainly Meath and Louth, but we do offer match day packages and we would travel further afield to provide our services.

We cover soccer, football, hurling, boxing, rugby and other sports. We can cover club events and if you need us to promote your club or event we can do this as we have a wide audience on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

We will post up articles on our page from supporter's and coaches etc. For example if it's a underage game we would need the report of the game, the result, the division of the game and age category. Boyne Sports Journalism cover's both adult club games and juvenile games.
