I want to join the Barracks! How do I do it?

All aspiring Janissaries should read the guide to membership and if you are still interested, contact us to arrange a day to come and be part of a training session.

I want to join, but I only want to be involved with one activity. Is that okay?

Yes. We do have members who do specialise in specific roles within the Barracks. However, members who participate in public demonstrations, such as the Abbey Medieval Festival, are required to assist in all aspects of the encampment.

I am a woman, may I wrestle?

Unfortunately, due to the strict dress code and rulings, you cannot. But you can do anything else!

We have a special event coming up, will you come and put on a demonstration for us?
