At The Horizon Foundation, we hold weekly tutoring sessions for children ages 8-13. Our volunteers tutor primary school subjects, and some in preparation for PSLE. We have seen a boost in morale, as well as academic performance in the children as our volunteers aid our beneficiaries with utmost patience and enthusiasm.
Every few months, The Horizon Foundation organises daycamps for children in collaboration with our partner organisations. Our core team outlines fun and engaging activities that are educational for the children.
To fulfil our aim of holistic and fully-rounded development, we have also initiated sports and public-speaking "crash courses". Besides instilling values of perseverance in our beneficiaries and volunteers, we promote interpersonal skills and empathy.
In 2023, THF@JPJC held a school-wide book donation drive that amassed 300+ books for Heartware Network.
To eliminate societal misconceptions (and instead, spread love!), we utilise our social media to produce interviews and videos surrounding youth volunteering and our beneficiaries.
