How can I help?
Refer to our 'Volunteer' tab to find more information on how you can join us. Meanwhile, you can email any partner organisations we collaborate with if you want to lend a helping hand.
I'm a student in JC... how can I have time to commit to volunteering?
Well, not to worry! Our volunteering initiatives are ad-hoc and we offer flexibility in signing up. If you prefer more structured ways to volunteer, we recommend signing up as a tutor. There are many pockets of time during the school term where we will have an event organised. We also clear our schedule during examination periods so our volunteers can rest.
Is this a CCA?
No! In RI, we are registered as a "CE01", a student-led project rather than a society or club. Think of it as a "VIA project", if you are familiar with that term.
Do I get volunteering hours?
Hey, that's a forbidden question! Jokes aside, yes you will get volunteering hours considering that we are officially registered with the school. VIA hours are tallied by our EXCO team and submitted to the school regularly to update your record.
Do you provide training for volunteers?
Generally, if the event requires a certain skill, we will approach volunteers who have said skill. Otherwise, most volunteers get by without formal training. Our partner organisations also conduct comprehensive briefings if we were to volunteer with them.
I don't really like people but I want to help. How can I go about this?
No worries! Our organisation also has volunteers who are either (a) introverted or (b) have too many commitments but still want to help. If you are the former or latter, you can volunteer as a designer for social media campaigns and posts.
