Fight Point is a roleplaying game built upon player freedom, meaningful choices, and a shared commitment to maintaining a fair and immersive experience.
Players are expected to understand and respect the following rules throughout their participation in FPRBRP. These rules apply to interactions between players, communication with the Game Master (GM), and conduct during gameplay.
Violations may result in warnings, restrictions, or permanent removal from the game, depending on their severity.
Metagaming is strictly prohibited, except where out-of-game decisions are explicitly permitted by the game's mechanics.
Metagaming, commonly referred to as META, is the act of using information obtained outside the game to influence a character's knowledge, behavior, or decisions.
Your character's actions must be based on information they have acquired through their own experiences, observations, memories, and interactions within the game.
Information obtained from other players, external conversations, previous characters, or sources that your current character has no legitimate access to cannot be used to influence their actions.
Certain out-of-game considerations are permitted when interacting with the game's systems.
For example, players may choose their character's ambitions, objectives, and preferred activities based on their personal interests. You may decide to pursue a particular profession, explore a region, or work toward a certain type of character development because it interests you as a player.
However, the knowledge and decisions of the character must remain consistent with what they could reasonably know within the world.
Suppose you know that another player's character is secretly responsible for several murders. You learned this through an out-of-game conversation or through the experiences of a previous character.
Your current character has never met this individual and possesses no information about their crimes.
When the two characters finally encounter one another, the individual behaves politely and offers assistance.
You cannot immediately distrust, accuse, threaten, or investigate them solely because you, the player, already know their identity.
Your character must develop their own understanding of the individual through legitimate in-game experiences.
References, jokes, or allusions to people, events, media, and concepts that do not exist within the Fight Point universe are prohibited in character.
Players must maintain a clear distinction between their own knowledge of the real world and the knowledge available to their characters.
All participants are required to treat one another with respect, regardless of their relationships or disagreements within the game.
Conflict between characters is a natural part of roleplaying. Characters may become enemies, betray one another, hold opposing beliefs, engage in political rivalries, or develop personal grievances.
Such conflicts must remain within the game.
Personal insults, harassment, hostility, or disrespect directed toward another player outside their character are unacceptable.
Likewise, personal disagreements between players must never be carried into the game or used as justification for targeting another player's character.
In-character hostility never excuses out-of-character misconduct.
The Game Master is responsible for administering the game, interpreting its mechanics, and maintaining the integrity of the experience.
Players are expected to cooperate with the GM in good faith.
Deliberately searching for loopholes in the GM's preparations, exploiting forgotten restrictions, concealing known mechanical oversights, or organizing schemes to abuse such circumstances is strictly prohibited.
If the GM overlooks an established rule, forgets an important detail, or makes an error that could unfairly benefit a player, the player is expected to bring the issue to the GM's attention.
The freedom offered by FPRBRP depends upon an environment in which rules are respected and decisions are made fairly.
Players are free to devise creative strategies, deceive enemies, investigate weaknesses, and attempt unconventional solutions within the game.
However, knowingly taking advantage of an out-of-game mistake, accidental omission, or unintentional mechanical inconsistency constitutes exploitation.
When uncertain whether an action takes advantage of such an oversight, consult the GM.
Deliberate exploitation of GM oversights, or conspiring behind the GM's back to do so, results in an immediate permanent ban. No exceptions are made for this violation.
Players who become aware of such conduct are obligated to report it to the GM, even when they are not personally involved.
Maintaining the integrity and fairness of the game is a shared responsibility.
Fight Point combines freeform roleplaying with structured game mechanics.
Although roleplay is fundamental to the experience, some situations require players to interact with the game through its established systems.
Certain encounters, decisions, challenges, and mechanical effects operate according to rules that cannot be bypassed through narration alone.
Players must recognize when a situation requires a mechanical response and act accordingly.
The Game Master determines how the relevant mechanics apply to a given situation.
During certain periods, Fight Point sessions take place according to predetermined dates and starting times.
Players who have agreed to participate in a scheduled session are expected to attend punctually.
If a player becomes unable to participate, they must notify the group at least three hours before the scheduled starting time.
Failing to attend a session without providing a reason or prior notice results in a warning.
First unexcused absence: One warning.
Second unexcused absence: A second warning.
Third unexcused absence: Three accumulated warnings result in restrictions on in-game rewards.
Players should respect the time and preparations of their fellow participants and the GM.
Clear communication is essential to FPRBRP, particularly during situations that require quick reactions and accurate interpretation of player actions.
Players should avoid speaking over one another, unnecessarily interrupting conversations, or interfering with another participant's opportunity to act.
Any command or declared action that cannot be heard or understood is considered invalid.
For example, if two players speak simultaneously and their commands become unintelligible because they overlap, neither command is recognized.
Both actions are treated as though they were never successfully communicated.
This principle also applies whenever an individual command cannot be understood clearly enough to determine the intended action.
Players are responsible for communicating their commands in a manner that can be understood by the GM.
During urgent encounters, maintaining clear communication can be just as important as making the correct decision.
Music and sound design are fundamental elements of the Fight Point experience.
The game uses audio to establish atmosphere, communicate information, and support its mechanical systems.
Players are strongly encouraged to keep the game's music enabled throughout sessions, as disabling it may significantly diminish the intended experience.
Furthermore, certain sound effects communicate essential mechanical information, including warnings, perceptual cues, and combat opportunities.
Players are expected to familiarize themselves with the Audio Mechanics system and remain attentive to relevant sound cues during gameplay.
Fight Point places considerable emphasis on atmosphere, narrative consistency, and immersion.
Players are expected to respect the universe, its established lore, the ongoing narrative, and the efforts of those participating in the experience.
Unnecessary disruptions, inappropriate interruptions, deliberate attempts to undermine the atmosphere, or behavior that prevents others from enjoying the game should be avoided.
Serious situations should be treated with appropriate seriousness.
During emotionally significant scenes, dramatic encounters, important conversations, or major narrative events, players should refrain from unnecessary out-of-character jokes, disruptive behavior, or actions intended to undermine the scene.
Characters may still possess their own personalities, senses of humor, and unusual approaches to situations. Such behavior should remain appropriate to their characterization and the circumstances of the world.
Players should remain considerate of the atmosphere being established and the experiences of other participants.
All players share responsibility for maintaining an enjoyable and functional game environment.
Participants are expected to cooperate with the GM, respect one another's opportunities to play, and avoid unnecessary disturbances during sessions.
Disagreements about rules, mechanical interpretations, or GM decisions should be raised respectfully and handled through appropriate out-of-game discussion.
Players should refrain from allowing personal disputes, frustration, or competitive disagreements to interfere with the game.
Freedom of action is a fundamental aspect of Fight Point, and players may pursue their own ambitions, including those that bring them into conflict with other characters. However, this freedom operates within the rules governing fair play and player conduct.
Every participant is expected to exercise that freedom responsibly.
