The heart of Acme’s business is making great games, toys, lifestyle and entertainment products that are enjoyed by people of all ages worldwide. Acme intends to be the number-one company in the toy and game industry; the leading provider of play; and the number-one marketer and partner in all channels and all customers.
Acme, Inc. was founded in 1947 and headquartered in Illinois. The company designs, manufactures, and markets games and toys. Acme develops, markets and sells action figures, vehicles, play sets, plush products, preschool toys and infant products, toy-related specialty products, traditional board games and puzzles, electronic toys, DVD-based games, trading card, and role-playing games. In addition, the company develops, markets and sells both toy and game products in markets outside of the U.S. and Canada, mainly the European, Asia Pacific, and Latin and South American regions.
Since 2008, all products were manufactured in third party facilities in Asia, mainly in China, as well as in its two owned facilities in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts and Waterford, Ireland. Acme competes with several large toy and game companies, and with many smaller toy and game designers, manufacturers and marketers. Competition is based mainly on meeting consumer entertainment preferences and on the quality and play value of the products, and to a lesser extent, on price.
