SOAR Student Art Exhibit

The Student Opportunity Artist-in-Residence program pairs working artists with elementary teachers. This year, artists went entirely virtual, facilitating art workshops online in K-5 classrooms at Ochoa Community School and Pueblo Gardens Elementary. This exhibit presents the heartfelt, vibrant, and creative work of students in the program.

Congratulations to all our students!

And, of course, a tremendous thank you to our teaching artists and classroom teachers in partnering schools for their enthusiasm and adaptability in this pandemic moment.

These residencies were made possible by funding from The Drawing Studio donors and the Knisely Family Foundation! We are so appreciative - thank you for supporting arts education for children and youth in Tucson!

This exhibit is split into 3 parts: Nature, Pop Culture, and Other.

Look for the tabs to each page at the top of the website.

NOTE: Some of these pictures were taken on Zoom and thus are blurry. While the quality of photos may not match an in-person show, we think it's more than worth celebrating the manner in which students and teachers made it through this pandemic year with artistic presence. To that end, we think you'll still enjoy each work. Each piece in this exhibit represents a moment of creative resilience.
