The Digital Holistic Therapist is committed to maintaining clear, consistent and appropriate professional boundaries with all students.
All student-specific communication is conducted directly with the enrolled adult student.
Students undertaking courses through Udemy should communicate with me through their own Udemy account regarding their course participation, completion, certification, learning activities or other individual course matters.
A student's Udemy account must not be used by a spouse, partner, relative, friend, colleague or any other third party to communicate with me on the student's behalf.
I do not communicate with third parties regarding an individual student's course participation, completion, certification, correspondence, learning activities, personal disclosures or other student-specific matters. This applies even where the student states that permission or consent has been given for another person to communicate on their behalf.
Students may privately seek assistance from another person when preparing correspondence. However, any communication sent through the student's Udemy account must be communicated to me by the enrolled student as their own correspondence.
Where a message through a student's account is presented as being from another person, I will not engage in student-specific correspondence with that person. Future communication will be directed back to the enrolled student.
Where appropriate, concerns regarding use of a Udemy account may be referred to Udemy for review under its applicable policies.
I do not ordinarily disclose, discuss or confirm an individual student's enrolment, course history, completion, certification, correspondence, learning activities, personal disclosures or other student-specific information to third parties.
The fact that another person already possesses or refers to information about a student does not authorise me to confirm that information.
Anyone may make a general enquiry about publicly available course information.
However, where an enquiry relates to an identifiable student's participation, records, correspondence, completion or certification, I will communicate only with the enrolled student.
Communication should remain respectful, relevant and appropriate to the educational relationship.
I reserve the right not to engage with abusive, inappropriate, misleading or repeated communications that attempt to circumvent established professional boundaries.
Where conduct occurs through Udemy and raises concerns regarding compliance with platform policies, the matter may be referred to Udemy for review.
This policy applies consistently to all adult students.
The courses provided by The Digital Holistic Therapist have different educational and professional purposes. The status of each course is identified within the information provided for that individual course.
Some courses are provided for personal interest and educational purposes only. These courses do not confer professional accreditation, a professional qualification, professional registration or a licence to practise.
Other courses may form part of a structured professional learning pathway leading to a specified professional diploma qualification.
Where professional approval, recognition or eligibility for professional insurance applies, this will be expressly stated within the relevant course information.
Approval, accreditation, insurance eligibility or professional status applying to one course should not be assumed to apply to another course or an entire course series.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) broadly describes learning undertaken to develop or maintain professional knowledge and skills.
CPD learning does not, by itself, confer a professional qualification, professional registration or licence to practise.
Unless a course is expressly identified as carrying external CPD accreditation, learners should not assume that such accreditation applies.
Students wishing to use a course for employment, CPD, professional registration, professional membership, insurance or another professional purpose are responsible for checking the requirements of their relevant employer, regulator, professional body or insurer.
Where applicable, specific professional approval and eligibility for professional insurance will be clearly identified within the individual course information.
Professional approval or insurance eligibility should never be inferred where it has not been expressly stated.
Udemy Certificates of Completion are issued by Udemy in accordance with Udemy's own certificate arrangements and platform requirements.
I do not alter, remove or replace Udemy branding on certificates issued by Udemy.
Questions concerning Udemy-issued certificates should be directed to Udemy where they relate to the operation or format of the Udemy certificate system.
For courses where this option is available, students may request a separate personalised digital Certificate of Completion directly from The Digital Holistic Therapist.
The current administration fee for an individually prepared Certificate of Completion is £25.
This is separate from the Udemy Certificate of Completion.
A personalised Certificate of Completion confirms completion of the identified course only. Where the course is provided for educational or interest purposes, the certificate does not provide or imply professional accreditation, a professional qualification, professional registration or licence to practise.
Before relying upon any course or certificate for professional purposes, students should establish whether it meets the requirements of their employer, professional body, regulator or insurer.
The professional status of a course is exactly as stated within that individual course's information. Accreditation, approval, insurance eligibility or professional recognition should not be inferred where it is not expressly stated.
The Digital Holistic Therapist aims to provide a respectful, inclusive and professional learning environment.
Students are expected to communicate and participate appropriately when engaging with course materials and the instructor.
Communication with the instructor should be respectful, relevant to the educational relationship and made through appropriate communication channels.
Students should communicate through their own Udemy account regarding individual course matters.
Harassment, threatening or abusive communication, impersonation, deliberate misrepresentation or repeated attempts to circumvent established professional boundaries will not be accepted.
Instructor messaging is provided for appropriate communication concerning courses and learning.
It should not be used as a substitute for individual therapy, clinical consultation, legal advice, advocacy, crisis intervention or ongoing personal support.
Reasonable educational questions are welcomed. However, enrolment in a course does not create an entitlement to unlimited individual consultation or support from the instructor.
Students are responsible for engaging with course information and materials and for considering whether a course is appropriate for their individual learning or professional requirements.
Where a course includes exercises, reflection activities or other learning opportunities, students remain responsible for their own participation and submissions.
Course materials, including written content, lectures, educational resources, graphics and downloadable materials, remain subject to applicable intellectual property and copyright protections.
Course enrolment provides access for the enrolled student's personal learning. It does not provide permission to reproduce, republish, distribute, sell or represent course materials as the student's own work unless expressly permitted.
Students using Udemy remain subject to Udemy's applicable Terms of Use, student conduct requirements and other platform policies.
Concerns involving conduct or use of the Udemy platform may be referred to Udemy for review.
Where communication becomes inappropriate, abusive, excessive or repeatedly attempts to circumvent established professional boundaries, I reserve the right to discontinue non-essential correspondence and, where appropriate, refer the matter to Udemy.
This policy applies consistently to all students.
Courses provided by The Digital Holistic Therapist may address sensitive and complex subjects including mental health, domestic abuse and violence, trauma, safeguarding, sexual violence, rape and exploitation, health and social care, and holistic well-being.
Clear boundaries regarding the purpose of these courses are therefore important.
Course materials are provided for their stated educational or professional learning purpose.
Educational information is not a substitute for individual medical, nursing, psychological, therapeutic, legal or other professional assessment, diagnosis, treatment or advice.
Students should seek appropriately qualified professional assistance where individual advice or intervention is required.
Enrolment in a course or communication with the instructor does not establish a therapeutic, clinical, nursing, legal, advocacy, safeguarding or other professional-client relationship.
The instructor's professional qualifications or experience should not be interpreted as creating such a relationship through participation in an educational course.
Some courses encourage reflection on difficult or sensitive subjects. Students should consider their own well-being when engaging with this material.
Students are not required to disclose personal experiences to participate in educational learning unless a particular activity expressly requires information appropriate to that activity.
Instructor messaging is not provided or monitored as an emergency, crisis, therapeutic or safeguarding service and should not be relied upon for urgent assistance or individual safeguarding intervention.
Students who already work within professional, regulated, therapeutic, health, social care or community settings remain responsible for working within their own competence, qualifications, professional registration, organisational procedures and scope of practice.
Course completion does not extend an individual's professional scope of practice beyond that provided by their existing qualifications, registration or other applicable professional authority.
Where a course leads to a specific professional qualification or carries particular professional approval, this will be expressly identified within that course's information.
Students are responsible for applying educational information appropriately and within the limits of their own knowledge, competence and professional responsibilities.
Course information should not be used to diagnose, treat or make professional determinations about another individual where the student is not appropriately qualified and authorised to do so.
Courses are delivered through Udemy and remain subject to Udemy's applicable platform terms and policies.
Matters concerning Udemy accounts, payments, refunds, platform access or other platform services should be directed to Udemy through its appropriate support facilities.
Questions specifically concerning course content may be raised with me through Udemy's communication facilities.
These boundaries exist to protect students, maintain responsible educational practice and ensure that the purpose and limitations of the educational relationship remain clear.
