RVA First Friday West Coast Swing Dance with Christi and Kyla. There will be a intermediate WCS Lessons from 7-7:45pm followed by a beginner WCS lesson from 7:45-8:30 with Roger and Mané. There will then be open dancing from 8:30-10:30pm. Lots of Dancing-Friends-Snacks-Great Music.
Dance the night away in a friendly, supportive atmosphere!
Snacks will be provided—including cheese & crackers, fresh fruit, desserts, veggies, and the famous "Mancatcher."
No partner needed | All are welcome | Just $10 for the entire night

Come Hustle/Disco at The Dance Space!
We have a Large dance floor and great music complete with Disco Lights. There is a Beginner lesson at 7:30pm so NO EXPERIENCE OR DANCE PARTNER NECESSARY! Refreshments will be served all evening.
The evening includes a beginner Hustle/Disco lesson at 7:30 which is guaranteed get you out on the dance floor enjoying your own special "groove". If you prefer, feel free to "freestyle" throughout the night.
We are turning The Dance Space into an old-time Disco Dance Hall. Enjoy our 1,600 sqft wood dance floor with plenty of room for even the largest RVA Disco dance crowd. The music will include your favorite Disco tunes with a few Ballroom/Latin/Swing tunes thrown in for fun. Dancing is from 8 to 10pm. Light refreshments served all evening.

This is your chance to start your West Coast Swing journey!
Join us on Monday evenings in June for a WCS series beginner class. The class will start from scratch with teaching basic WCS beginner skills and will progress through the five sessions to cover WCS technique for the core pushes, passes and whips. This is a repeat of the Beginner Plus Series from earlier this year. The material to be included:

The Dance Space facility is available for group events and private parties. Our large 1,600 sqft dance floor and sound system is available on an hourly basis, for social events as well as dance/athletic practice. Our central location in the near-West End is perfect for events in the Central VA area. Morning, afternoon and evening time slots are available.
We also provide affordable shared-floor time for dance instructors looking for a location for private or small-group lessons.

Welcome to The Dance Space
The Dance Space is a dance organization run by Ginny Engler and Mike Recant. We have been operating since April of 1992 and we are dedicated to promoting Ballroom Dancing in the Richmond, VA metropolitan area.
We are not a dance studio in the traditional sense. We hold dance events in our studio located on West Broad Street in Richmond, VA . The Dance Space is an organization that does the following:
Holding public Ballroom Dances on a regular basis
Providing public Ballroom Dance Group Lessons on a regular basis for both non-dancers and experienced dancers
Rents floor time to local dance organizations and instructors
Rents the facility for private events

The Dance Space events are held in a studio on the second floor of a small shopping center directly on Broad Street (Studio-804). It is located half way between Horsepen Road and Libbie Avenue on the North side of Broad. The studio is above the Mekong Restaurant with our entrance downstairs to the right of the Mekong.
