Why, hello there!
My name is Hannah Lucas and I am an art educator at Jackson Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina! I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Fine Art and seek to one day earn my master's degree!
My favorite movie franchises are Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. My favorite foods are dumplings and mangoes. I love to be outside in nature and spend time with my family and fiancé! My favorite art forms are drawing, creating collages, crocheting, painting with watercolor and ceramics!
Philosophy
I believe that art is not merely a subject to be taught, but a journey of self-discovery and expression. As an art teacher, I aim to create a nurturing environment where every student is comfortable and free to explore their unique voice and perspective through their artwork. I also vow to help students develop an appreciation for the arts and equip them with the tools to navigate the world as both an artist and/or an observer.
