Hustai National Park is located 100 km southwest of capital Ulaanbaatar city, covering over 50,000 hectares of area. Hustai NP’ landscape characterized mainly by mountain steppe, which suitable home to wild Przewalski horses. Mongolian Government registered Hustain region into State Protected Area Network as National Park by 1993 to protect this unique ecosystem.
To date, Mongolian Government successfully reintroduced Przewalski horses by 1992, which extinct in the wild by the end of the 1960s. First 15 wild horses were transported to Mongolia within frame work of Holland-Mongolian, and followed by several successful transportation of wild horses which make it a total of 84 reintroduced horses. Recently, there are more than 300 wild horses inhabit in Hustai NP.
What species we will see other than wild horses?

We will able to see following species, including
1. Asian wapiti (previously known as red deer): Hustai is famous for its large population of Wapiti which are often seen grazing on the mountain slopes.
2. Mongolian Gazzelle: Mongolian Gazelles occasionally pass through the park's steppe areas.
3. Mongolian Marmot: You will see many Siberian Marmots, which play a crucial role in the ecosystem by creating burrows used by other species.
4. Cinereous Vulture: Hustai NP is one of the main breeding ranges for Cinereous Vulture in Mongolia.

To watch these species, as well as for our safety, we need following belongs (optional), including

What about the weather?
During our trip in beginning of July, the average air temperature could be approximately 20oC. It also could be possible we experienced with windy or rainy weather. Therefore, please bring your outfits (e.g., rain jacket) with you during trip.

Hustai NP is located central Mongolia, 100 km away from Ulaanbaatar city. We will drive approximately 2-3 hours to reach Hustai NP.
