Piece 1 | Raw Red
Piece 1 is a raw visualization of being emotionally hurt, visualized by the blood red splattered across the figure stemming from a physical representation of someone else's emotions attacking you in the form of an arrow. The left portion of the figure depicted has a porcelain texture with cracks representing emotional scars that never healed or contributed to growing as a person. The frontal portion of the face is a guise it shows less imperfections, keeping a large portion of the damage out of view. Certain parts of our complete selves are masked away, on a day to day life.
Piece 2 | Stains
Piece 2, despite the environment surrounding the figure in the piece, which is also visualized as intruding on the person, is relatively more “hopeful”. It shows how being hurt is complex, the good and bad. No experience develops the same way, all becoming a part of you in different ways taking separate paths towards becoming a part of you as a person. It visualizes how many scars heal and change you as a person, it is common for someone to grow or become better and stronger from their experiences, not all scars go away, some will be a stain in your life. Meanwhile some emotions don’t even develop into scars, this is visualized with how some tears are leaving the eyes and making their way towards being a part of you as a person.
Moving towards the upper side of this piece, the mind is visualized with golden streaks and recovery is shown with emotional scars floating up towards the beautiful mind. Despite the environment, which is also visualized as intruding on the person, this piece is relatively more hopeful. It shows how being hurt is complex. No emotion develops the same way, all becoming a part of you in different ways taking separate paths.
Piece 3 | Environ & Evoke
Continuing from “Stains”, this shows memories and feelings within. This piece shows the process healing from grim memories and emotions, others floating around staining your mind with depravity. These emotions are evoked and avenged, as someone heals. All these things become a part of yourself.
Piece 4 | The Jester & The Puppet
Why are you throwing tomatoes? I'm not always good at it. I must have tripped holding the mirror up for you. I'm sorry. The tomato didn't bother me that much, let's go back to putting a smile on your face. Quick.
Piece 5 | Refract
Pleasing for your mind. I'll hold this mirror up or else it will crush me and my heart with it. I'm doing it for myself but for you as well. Trust me it doesn't bother me too much even though I'm chained to it.
This piece resembles the need to show people want the way to see out of me, how ill get hurt if I don't hold up a false mirror for them.
Piece 6 | Point and View
This piece represents those who seek refraction. We all do anyway. Filtered mirrors.
Piece 7 | Hide
Put everything behind without the whole picture, nothing would make sense anyway. The pictures are in your mind, not your phone. So you can’t show them everything so why bother and take the risk being misunderstood.
Piece 8 | Reflection Hurt
It doesn’t like the truth. That I'm doomed either way. It knows the purpose of the dumb question. It's a trap and it doesn’t like hearing silence or truth. Refraction is protection for me, because most who seek refraction, loathe in reaction to reflection. Personal piece might hide what this means under the words above.
Piece 9 | Drown
Is my view clouded by my sea? Partially? Is the sea fit in the jar or is there too much to bottle? Or maybe just the worst hides in the jar. I thought it was clear but I let things hide in the jar, under the shadows of my sight. I sea I sea I sea, thoughts, I sea I sea I sea. Do I trust the sea, what I see, what sea…
Piece 10 & Piece 11 | Broken One [10] & Broken Too [11]
Who's hurt? One is wearing a sad face with a healthy mind, one is bearing a broken mind wearing a smile on their face. Pain is relative to our normal.
This piece expresses how it doesn't matter who's broken or how hurt you are. Pain is loud but doesn’t depend on your suffering. I think those who are used to it don’t scream too much when shot by the arrow.
Composition of 1 [Broken One]
Flooded with pain, you wear the face of someone thriving. Because your heart has changed to work with what's being thrown at you. It's crude.
Composition of 2 [Broken Too]
The RGBP colors form a combination of colors that resemble the complex galaxy, this shows that despite this piece seeming more simple, it's still a very complicated subject on its own and helps define the purpose of these two pieces, which is to compare two different types of pain and life.
Piece 12 | Reach for the Stars
We seem to like to chase stars, spectating them because they are spectacles, but I think those eyes of ours get hurt too, chasing something they can't touch. A Star. Maybe we are too blinded from chasing too long to realize the pedestals those stars stand on…
We chase dreams, passions, love, people, right off a cliff too, but they remembered to bring a parachute and you didn't have one.
So watch as that burning light blinds you, then dries your wilting petals, and the beauty you didn't know you had in you seeps off the corpse left behind if it consumes all of you.
