Similarities and Differences Between Tarot and Oracle
Oracle cards or decks are similar to tarot in the way that it is divination in the method of shuffling and drawing cards to read. In a modern practice some creators, writers, authors, and illustrators collaborate to create a new version of tarot cards, which eventually expanded into the world of oracle cards. Where people create decks that are not based off the 78 cards of the tarot, but rather on a more specific topic, with different messages and images on each card relating to the theme, and can vary in amount of cards per deck. For example, playing cards would be more of an oracle deck translated to a minor tarot system. Some oracle decks are made to help with spiritual growth and are astrology, angel and ancestor themed while, some may be love themed. Sometimes oracle decks are read along with tarot and compliment the readings or read on their own. Much like tarot decks when unboxing the cards most oracle decks come with a guidebook to help learn more about the cards and extra information to study before practicing.
