A Teacher’s Vacation

Teachers work a lot more than they’re supposed to, even during summer. I yearn for a vacation where students and teachers can relax and laze around. Our teachers deserve a break, and they finally have one thanks to the consideration and amendment of the school calendar.
After a long school year of hard work and perseverance, our teachers deserve a long, unbothered break. Teachers must deal with numerous sections, each with many students. It must be exhausting to teach multiple sections throughout the day and make lesson plans at night. Teachers seem to be superheroes; they always manage to smile and continue no matter how hard their work is.
With the new normal and sudden adjustments of the school calendar, teachers had to manage and put in extra effort just to share their profound knowledge. The harsh, scorching sun did not seem too kind, as it caused many students and teachers to faint. With the graceful consideration of DepEd, the school days are now shifting back to normal, and teachers are no longer required to labor in school during the first month of the summer break. This may take a lot to get used to, but we will get there eventually.
My mother is a teacher in a public school. Growing up, I witnessed her hard work. I always admired how my mother was able to cook delicacies even after a tiring day at school. She always managed her time and did her best so she could give us a comfortable life. I am beyond grateful for her passion and hard work. Seeing her drained almost every school day bothered me a lot and hoped she would finally take a break. When I heard the news of teachers being able to enjoy summer vacations without extraneous labor, I was over the moon.
Hopefully, our teachers get sufficient rest and catch up with their families this upcoming vacation. I can’t wait to scroll on Facebook and see my teachers travel, relax, and enjoy themselves. After all, they helped us reach our dreams and motivated us to work hard for them.
