Muhamad Shirwan Abdullah Sani is a PhD holder in Halal Products Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He was appointed as the registered chemist of the Department of Chemistry, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia between 2006 - 2013. He served as an expert witness for environmental enforcement cases and involved in the method development of oil spill analysis during his employment in the department. He is actively involved as the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF)-certified trainer for halal assurance system, and an auditor and consultant for halal-related activities in Japan, South Korean and Taiwan. He has been engaging as a trainer for halal laboratory testing in COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, Pakistan. Presently, he serves as a registered chemist of Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (L/1643/5200/07) and Head of Laboratories for International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Siti Nurhidayah Sharin pursued her first degree in Bachelor of Science (Chemical Sciences) at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and had her internship at Malaysian Nuclear Agency, conducting a small project on tracing radionuclide Cesium-137 in seawater. She holds a Master’s degree in Halal Products Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia and her main research interest focuses on traceability of stingless bee honey origin. She equipped herself with a comprehensive understanding and practical on statistical analyses related to metabolites throughout her postgraduate study. She also received certifications in Professional Halal Executive (JAKIM.HPB/SPLH/HE:2019-011-136) and Food Handler (LPM0004966) to complement her knowledge and practices of halal products. Nur Eqmal Dinie Bin Nor Azmi holds a Master of Science in Chemistry (Research Mode) from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He previously served as a Quality Control Chemist at a pharmaceutical company in Malaysia, conducting GMP-compliant stability testing and leading OOS/OOT root-cause investigations. He is presently a trainer for the PCA Online Short Course at The Catalytixs Solutions. His doctoral research focuses on lipid profiling and machine learning approaches for the halal authentication of fats and oils, combining GC-MS-based lipid fingerprinting with machine learning and chemometric tools (PCA, PLS-DA, OPLS-DA, DA) towards a web-based authentication platform built with Python (Streamlit). Nur Assyafa Muhamad Aini holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering Technology (Food) and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Halal Industry Science (Research) in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She currently serves as a Halal Technical Auditor with the Halal Feed and Food Inspection Authority (HFFIA), the Netherlands, and has conducted halal audits in Japan and China for food ingredient and biotechnology manufacturers. With nearly 10 years of multidisciplinary professional experience, she specialises in halal assurance systems, regulatory affairs, quality management, product development, and supply chain. She has been involved in the implementation of Malaysian & International Halal Certification and food safety management systems, including GMP, HACCP, MeSTI, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000, and also serves as a Freelance Halal Consultant for SMEs pursuing Malaysian Halal Certification and MeSTI certification. She holds professional certifications as a Certified Halal Executive, Certified Halal Internal Auditor, Certified Halal Supervisor (IHATEC Indonesia), Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in Halal Operations, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Her research focuses on the analysis of FTIR and GC-MS datasets for halal authentication of fats and oils in cosmetic and personal care products using chemometric, machine learning, and taxonomical techniques. Nureen Sabrina holds a degree in Food Science and Technology with Honours from UPM. She combines her knowledge of food science alongside data science for her master’s project, which is halal authentication of fat and oil using data science. She is also licensed as a Halal executive (JAKIM.HPB/SLPH/HE: 2023-018-1134) and an Internal Auditor for HACCP (CIA HACCP 0016).
