ABOUT US
OUR NAME
noun: the action of looking back on or reviewing past events or situations, especially those in one's own life.
Our name "The Retrospection Party of SF" represents our value of bringing back how things once were pre-pandemic. We want students to be excited to come to school again, we want to reintroduce old ways of doing, and we want to Make Simon Fraser Great Again.
OUR LOGO
The graduation hat represents our mission in "ensuring everyone succeeds in their own personal-defined success", while the 2 stars represent the 2 founders of the Retrospection Party; Calvin and Bea.
The combination of both red and blue represents a centrist approach. We're a mix of right-wing and left-wind. Our centrist stance means we advocate for increased spending on investments that can help return and provide benefits of the future; the benefit being our students.
Why Klein is doing this - why we're running for you, your education, and your future. Inspired by Pierre Polievre's "Why Pierre is doing this.".
O U R C A M P A I G N
We're the Retrospection Party of Simon Fraser.
We're the party that's focused on tackling big problems and bringing a new meaning to learning. We want our students to thrive in an environment that suits them and their aspirations, no matter what that may be. We aim to build a school where every individual, regardless of their background or aspirations, is treated equally and provided with the resources and opportunities needed to reach their full potential. We want to create a sense of culture at Simon Fraser where every student feels safe and welcomed.
We're doing it because there aren't enough people who are. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, students were struck with learning gaps, while our school suffered tremendous economic and financial loss. We want to return to how things once were, and to Make Simon Fraser Great Again.

O U R M I S S I O N
Let's reclaim our past, and secure our future.
The COVID-19 brought new challenges to our learning. As inflation continues to strike families and school boards across Canada, Simon Fraser was forced to shut down its cafeteria, lay off its staff, and cut down on field trips in order to overcome its financial epidemic. As a result, our school suffered tremendous loss, and our school was no longer the playground our students and staff so desired.
But, we're here to bring back what students love; the cafeteria, our vending machines, the events and games that regularly took place during lunch hour. Most importantly, we're seeking ways to regularly get students engaged, doing so with minimal cost.
Let's foster a school culture filled with collaborative events and activites.
We want to allocate 15% of our budget to enhance in-school events during lunch hours. Our aim is to reintroduce contests such as "guess the amount of marbles in the jar", or "memorize the most digits of pi" that provide rewards for participating students who win. We want to consider the implementation of entrance fees that could help generate new revenue for our school, all while providing students an opportunity to compete and build their community.
Let's drive academic excellence and innovation; through the use of technology.
Let's promote academic excellence and innovation through the use of extra-curriculars. We want to spend 35% of our budget towards introducing new programs and courses that enable students to pursue a new skill, while introducing a digitalized approach to learning that includes online platforms, and A.I technologies, while recognizing student accomplishments and achievements from our most talented and creative minds at Simon Fraser.
Let's invest towards what actually matters; for our students, for their future.
We promise to allocate the budget towards responsible and reasonable spending that best reflects the interests of our students and staff. This includes investing towards teachers for higher pay while supporting updated teaching methods and technologies, investing towards our school clubs and programs, field trips, special education, physical facilities, and community engagement, and reinvesting towards our students so they live to their maximum potential by providing the necessary resources to do so.
