Mr. Calvin Musk

Meet the leader at The Calvin Party, and the Leader of the Official Opposition of Simon Fraser.

My vision is for the Simon Fraser we all want - the education system that we need. Caring, connected, and ready to address the main problems addressing our student's learning environment. Like you, I want to provide a future for my children that is full of opportunity.

Together, Calvin Klein has advocated for education alongside government officials, students, and other bright individuals who share a common vision for the future of our education system, and our future generations.

The education system you want, the leadership that we need.

Mr. Calvin Musk is the founder, director, and chief executive officer at Calvin Industries Corporation. As the founder and director, he oversees all development and implementation processes run by Calvin Industries, Calvin State University, The Calvin Party, and various other organizations under the Calvin Network name. He's a chief engineer serving at CalvinX Corporation. He's an aspiring maverick entrepreneur, student, environmentalist, and student representative who has been representing his community's beliefs, values, and needs through the Simon Fraser Student Council since 2021.

In 2020, Calvin got involved with his school events to try to make a difference. Surrounded by hate and negativity, Calvin took it up to himself to try to see what he could do to spark change. Following the COVID-19, Simon Fraser was struck with an economic crisis that forced cafeterias to shut down, and staffing issues to persist. When the school council was established, Calvin decided to join to try to see how he could help his communities, empower our future changemakers, and make our school better for the present, and the future students of Simon Fraser.

Calvin has been here at Simon Fraser since the very beginning. Ever since he moved to Evanston in 2018, he was forced to relocate to another school. That school would then be Simon Fraser Junior High. Simon Fraser Junior High was one of the largest schools within the Brentwood community and was known for its athletic programs and teams which constantly dominated against other schools. Its bustling and pact cafeteria offered a diverse set of meals and variety that students could purchase, and students had the freedom to roam the school as they pleased during lunch. During nutrition break, the cafeteria was open and offered a variety of different nutritious snacks which students loved. Vending machines were stocked to the max. School events such as pie the teacher, the pi contest, and Guess the Jelly Beans made school worth coming to . It was a show of a lifetime, where students had the opportunity to win huge prizes through simple school fundraiser events that benefited the school and their communities.

But that soon changed. In early 2020 during March, COVID-19 swept through Canada and threatened the health and well-being of our students. To prevent further transmission and outbreaks, all C.B.E schools within the Calgary Board of Education were forced to close down. Schools later opened in September of 2020, but nothing was the same. The cafeteria was forced to shut down, and the freedom that was given to students wae now taken away. School events no longer occurred. As the 2021-2022 school year began, staffing issues were threatening our schools, and more restrictions limited what students could and could not do to further limit the COVID-19 Omicron variant. There weren't any school fundraisers, vending machines were no longer in operation, and overall, the school turned dead.

As the 2022-2023 school year began and the school was transitioning to endemic, the school was met with a financial crisis. They were struck with staffing shortages, and no longer had the funds to support various in-school additions that students loved. Soon, the cafeteria was forced to shut down, the vending machines were removed, and inflation forced students to spend their own money on things they loved. But there was hope. When Simon Fraser started a student council campaign to try to address these issues, Calvin decided to join. He soon started The Calvin Party to try to make a positive change in his school communities. He shared new solutions such as fundraisers and school-wide events that could potentially help address the financial crisis threatening our school.

"Education lies as the cornerstone of accomplishment for students, and budding entrepreneurs alike. We're all capable of great positive impact, but in order for that to happen, we must first invest in our students, and hence, investing into the betterment of our schools."
