Dancers
No experience needed, just enthusiasm!

Practice and the learning of new dances for the up and coming season starts in September each year, so this is the best time to join. However, please do feel free to contact us at any time through the year, we will find a way to include you.

Musicians

We have a dedicated band of musicians playing melodeon, violin, recorder, mandolin, concertina and percussion. The music is primarily traditional folk tunes, complimenting our style of dance.

Cost of joining

Your first term at Buttercross Belles is free of charge. If you wish to continue, all dancers pay a share of the hire of the practice hall and other expenses. This is currently £45, paid at the start of autumn and spring terms.

Buttercross Belles cardigan, bell pads and the material for a smock and dress is provided. The other costs of the kit is met by the dancer herself.

Musicians pay a reduced contribution.
