The Bioptic Review is a self-published non-profit journal, which uses Lulu print-on-demand for printing copies. There is virtually no profit after printing costs, and authors will unfortunately not be financially remunerated, however publishing helps to gain readership and recognition.
Initially The Bioptic Review started as a bilingual English-French journal that sought to create cross-cultural perspectives and exchanges between France and the United States, but this vision came to expand to the Spanish-speaking community as well after the second year. It still aims to create a dialogue of ideas through multiple cultural lenses, and each year there is a double theme composed of opposites, or dichotomies, which provokes discussion around the contemplation of these non-binary linguistic pairs.
