Enrichment Activities Program

The Barn School (TBS) Enrichment Activities Program provides focused afternoon learning and wellness opportunities until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for children enrolled in grades K-5. We provide these activities as part of our school day for students wishing to do full days at TBS. If you are interested in registering for this program and would like to find out more information, please download the enrichment activities program registration packet.

Scholarships

We have a unique scholarship package available to a limited number of students. We ask that you inform us what you are able to afford. We then work with you to find volunteer opportunities and items to donate to our school. For example, you could teach a weekly class, knit sweaters for students for our outdoor classroom, donate office supplies, or supply ingredients for cooking class. We have movie nights that you could chaperone, you could help set up an event (like The Barn Dance held in the Fall), or you could come up with a new event to host at the school, donating the proceeds to the school. Please contact Kara at thebarnschoolvt@gmail.com for more information.

Field Trip Permission Forms

As part of our curriculum at the Barn School, we will take many field trips throughout the year to complement and support our themes and projects. Sometimes these trips will be planned far in advance, but more often than not, due to the nature of our child-directed curriculum, the opportunities will arise and provide us with less advance notice. One of the benefits of our program is that we can pursue these different opportunities as they arise, and it gives us the chance to make connections with our communities and foster a greater sense of belonging and stewardship. Our learning is deepened by these experiences, and they enable us to gain insight that we might not otherwise be able to have.

This general field trip form allows you to give permission for general field trips throughout the 2018-2019 school year to destinations within a 25-mile radius of the Barn School. Should we wish to venture farther, a separate field trip form is needed.
