Making peace: Echoes of forgiveness

Playback theatre is a form of improvisation where the audience share personal stories that are then "played back" by a team of actors and musicians. Each performance is a dynamic expression of the shared human experience. We aim to create a welcoming space where everyone is heard and community unfolds.

This month, the theme of our performance is peace and forgiveness.

Tell us about a time you let it go, a time you met in the middle, a time you waved the white flag.

What does it cost to forgive and when does it feel impossible?

Through movement, dialogue, and music, this performance will explore the themes of peace and forgiveness. In an intimate setting, audience members share personal stories related to these themes, providing the raw material for the improvised scenes. The ensemble of performers transforms these narratives into spontaneous expressions of the universal journey towards peace. The interactive nature of the performance encourages audience engagement, fostering collective reflection and understanding.

Quaker Meeting House, T12 XW8R

Step into the spirit of the season with our playback theatre performance, "The Gift of Giving." As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to reflect on the joy, warmth, and sometimes the complexity that comes with the act of giving and receiving.

Explore the spectrum of emotions associated with gift-giving—Have you experienced the thrill of finding the perfect present, or perhaps the disappointment beneath the shiny wrapping paper? Share your thoughts on the joy of giving, the challenges of navigating consumerism, and the nuanced emotions tied to this time of year.

In this unique interactive experience, our audience becomes the storyteller. Through the art of playback theatre, your personal stories will come to life as a team of actors and musicians interpret and perform them on the spot. It's a collaborative and spontaneous journey where every voice is heard, and community unfolds.

After the performances, we invite you to join us for a cozy gathering with mulled apple cider and mince pies.

All proceeds from the performance will be dedicated to Doctors Without Borders—a charitable organisation committed to providing medical aid where it's needed most. They are currently on the ground in Gaza where their medical aid is crucial.

Come and be a part of an evening filled with stories, laughter, and the magic of shared experiences.

Summary: Share a story about rebellion.  From breaking the dress code to leading the protest - no story is too big or too small.

Playback theatre is a form of improvisation where the audience share personal stories that are then "played back" by a team of actors and musicians. We aim to create a welcoming space where everyone is heard and community unfolds.

This month, the theme of our performance is rebellion. We're exploring renewal, upheaval, and what it's like to challenge the status quo. Have you taken part in a protest, or been part of a movement? Have you worn your skirt too short, your hair too long, or refused to fit in? Tell us about the time when you didn't back down.

The theme for this month is inspired by the sounds of protest on our city streets - people marching against injustice. What has this been like for you? Have you joined in, or watched from the sidelines? The rebel county resists the rules - which ones have you broken and which ones do you wish you had? From negotiating your bedtime, burning your bra, sit-ins, strikes, call and response. We all want to change the world.

*the theme of "Rebellion" is borrowed from the Moth story telling events
