About
History
Speak Out! Theater for Transformation began in 2008 in Cork City. The aim of the group was to create empathic spaces for people to connect through personal stories and to challenge dominant narratives by opening opportunities for lesser heard voices. The group has worked with many community organizations throughout the years including the Traveler visibility group, Amnesty international, local schools, the YMCA, the Cork Migrant Center and the Irish Refugee Council. We have performed as part of the "Critical Voices" conference at UCC and the Cork Anti-racism summit. We are currently embedded in Creativity and Change at MTU.
Who we are
We are passionate about creating "Yes, and" spaces where we listen empathically, laugh, and build connection. We come from different backgrounds, which gives us richness in our ability to hold stories from multiple perspectives.
