My name is Mrs. Fearon! Music has been with me all of my life! I was born into a family of musicians, so I knew growing up that my future would always consist of music making and staying active in it. I was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina and moved to Georgia when I was 8 years old. I grew up in Marietta where both of my parents were educators.
I was an active clarinet player in my church, school and youth orchestra. I loved being in the high school marching band! The trips to competitions, parades and festivals were the best! During my senior year, I served as Drum Major, which allowed me to conduct the band! After I graduated high school, I went to college and graduate school to study Clarinet Performance (my main instrument) and I've also learned many other instruments along the way: piano, flute, saxophone, recorder, ukulele and slide whistle - jk! :)
I began teaching General Music in 2016 in Cobb County. In 2017, I transitioned to Fulton County and in 2022, I transitioned to DeKalb County. I'm so blessed for the opportunity to teach in a wonderful school community like Ashford Park! It is a special gem of a school!
I believe that every child deserves a quality music education. I am passionate about creating a safe, exciting and fun learning space in the Music room! It gives me great joy to see and hear children make music individually/collectively whether it's through singing, playing instruments, dancing or creating something new on their own! These are the BEST moments for me as an educator! Students are presented with challenging material and go through the process of learning new skills/concepts to the best of their ability. Once it all comes together, they enjoy the fruits of their hard work! It's so rewarding! My heart remains full!
Family is important to me. I'm a busy mom of three amazing children who attend DeKalb County schools - my oldest daughter, Kasidee, and boy/girl twins, Kingston and Khelani. My lovely husband and I have been married since 2012. In my free time, I play the clarinet, flute and ukulele. I'm an active member of my church. I love to read, sing, watch music documentaries and Sci-fi movies, work out, listen to music, and watch funny YouTube reels! Lol!
