Lemoyne

Welcome to Lemoyne, a Southern State through and through. The state consists of three very distinct regions based on the American South. To the west is Scarlett Meadows, where the rolling hills and red clay soil will leave you reminiscing about the days long gone, and the Lost Cause... oh wait, forgot to tell. The people here haven't really gotten over that whole Civil War thing: the once uber-wealthy Plantation Families aren't as strong as they used to be, but they're still exerting power over the local town of Rhodes, transforming it into a battleground for petty squabbles. To the east is Bayou Nwa, heavily inspired by the Louisianan Bayou. Asides from the small fishing settlement Lagras, there's not much here besides swamp and gators. Finally, there's the beating heart of civilization in this Inferno of America: Saint Denis. The largest city in the park, St. Denis itself is the larger than the entirety of Disneyland, and is vast with commerce and opportunity.

"On the one side we have the Gray Family: Scots, degenerates, drunkards, the local law. And on the other we have their "mortal enemies", the Braithwaites: moonshiners, hypocrites, former slave-holders. Both rich as Croesus, both intent on killing the other."

-- Dutch Van Der Linde, 1899

Dewberry Creek

Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne

The entrance to Scarlett Meadows from New Hanover is clearly marked by the wide and shallow Dewberry Creek. Every night at 1:00 AM, the legendary Ghost Train passes by the Creek. Only guests who can stay up extra-late will be able to witness such an extraordinary event.

Pleasance

Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne

Heading south along the main path, we come to Pleasance, an abandoned village recently filled with new residents: archaeologists, led by the aloof Dr. Ethel Schwartz, who seeks to understand what happened to the town. He invites guests to help solve the Mystery of Pleasance by reading cryptic journals and messages scattered around the town. Schwartz is concerned by the reference to a "plague" which is why he is so hesitant to look for himself.

Slowly, guests begin to piece together the puzzle. One month after the village's founding, there was a great murder that killed ten of its residents and caused the rest to flee. Upon further research, it is found the intent of these murders revolved around the arrival of a Catholic Family in a largely Protestant community and the general acceptance of them. This caused a group of radicals to murder the entire town, accusing them of spreading the "plague" of diversity (hence the writings on the wall).

Upon returning to Ethel and telling him the truth, the archaeologist is suddenly very stern. Refusing to look into our eyes, he tells the guests the idea is ludicrous, and it is very obvious it was a real plague that destroyed Pleasance. Then, leaning into guests ear, he worriedly whispers, "They're everywhere. Keeping us quiet. Don't ask questions, it was the plague that killed Pleasance."

Rhodes

Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne

Rhodes is the heart of Scarlett Meadows. It's dusty red streets are occupied by many characters, each obsessed with the Gray - Braithwaite feud and holding their own opinions on the matter. Despite this, it is a fairly pleasant place to be.

The Rhodes General Store provides snacks and clothing; across town is a gunsmith, where guests can buy "guns" that work only within the American Inferno for a high price. Other buildings in town include a bank (containing an ATM), a Doctor's Office (containing First Aid), and the Sheriff's Office, the meeting place for the Moonshine Busting Adventure.

The Moonshine Busting Adventure is a reservation-required event occurring every two hours each day (lasts approx 30 mins). After a brief "target practice" outside the Sheriff's Office, guests join the Gray Lawmen on wagons into the Bayou, where they must search for the Braithwaite's illegal moon-shining operation. Once discovered, guests use the rifles attached to the wagons to "shoot down" bottled targets. The more bottles they remove, the less chaos those crazy Braithwaites can bring to Rhodes.

Nearby the general store is the Rhodes Roundabout, a street-show pulled by "free spirits" of Rhodes, who live in a series of trailers just outside town. Their eccentric attitude is in stark contrast to the rest of the "old blood" town.

At the far side of the town is the Rhodes Parlour House, which periodically has bursts free of drinks on the house, courtesy of the Braithwaites, before the Gray Lawmen rush in to stop their rivals from gaining the good spirits of the locals.

Braithwaite Manor

Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne

For most days, Braithwaite Manor and Grounds are open for guest tours. Members of the Braithwaite Family will happily present their wealth while actively avoiding any questions directing towards who exactly made their manor and wealth possible.

But the big event is Wednesday Night, where the Manor will be home to a Parley between the Grays and Braithwaites. Hopefully, this decades long dispute will be resolved: if not, things are bound to get ugly. Angelo Bronte, the mobster from St. Denis, has agreed to mediate the event.

You are welcome to dine with the Braithwaites in this reservation-required, up-charge event. Over the three hour event you have the opportunity to interact with twelve unique characters, some from the Braithwaites, some from the Grays, and some from third parties.

Things are looking up for the first three hours of the evening, but things turn sour when the families find out Beau and Penelope, who were talking over the evening, kissed. This leads to accusations from both sides about the other attempting to steal their property through marriage, culminating in Mr. Braithwaite charging at Sheriff Gray, and the Sheriff pulling out a gun and shooting the Braithwaite Head off the balcony. Chaos ensues, and the Grays soon leave. Everyone then has desert with Mr. Bronte, who, caring little for either side, acts like nothing happened.

Bolger Glade

Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne

Bolger Glade is the site of a famous Civil War battlefield. Guests can hike around the area while reading placards detailing real history and facts about the American Civil War.

On Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00 PM both days, a large-scale Civil War re-enactment is held on this ground.

Bayou Nwa

To the east side of Lemyone are the vast swamps of Bayou Nwa. Unlike Scarlett Meadows, this region is less dense, with only a few pathways for hiking around the swamp. At the center of the bayou is Lagras, a small fishing settlement with a large population of African-Americans. Alongside some authentic Cajun cooking, Lagras host the Bayou River Cruise, where you'll receive a firsthand tour Bayou Nwa. During the day, the cruise is humorous in nature, with only a brief crocodile attack at its conclusion. At night, though, it's a whole different story -- the Night Folk, a strange group of zombie-like individuals -- haunt the swamps, and the River Cruise soon becomes a horror train through the thick mists of Bayou Nwa.

Oh, and in the middle of the swamp, there's a giant snake animatronic you can interact with. Yeah.

Saint Denis

Bayou Nwa, Lemoyne

Welcome to the largest city in the American South. Spanning dozens of streets and multiple distinct districts, this settlement is not like most. Where most towns in The American Inferno consist of a single road, maybe two, with your typical services on either side, Saint Denis (San Denee, it's French) really deserves to be its own region entirely. There are some many things to do, instead of describing them regularly, it would be best to provide a list:

  • Eat the following: Horner Market (fresh fruit and meats), Cafe Denis (Creole), Jade Dragon Restaurant (Chinese), Doyle's Tavern (drinks and bar food), The Bastille (American), and Angelo Bronte's (Fancy Italian), available all days except when Bronte is at the Braithwaites.

  • Shop at the dozens of stores, many upscale and found only in such a great city as Saint Denis.

  • Go to the Barbershop, or have your photo taken in the Studio.

  • Attend the live shows at the St. Denis Theater, containing musical acts, comedy routines, and stunt spectaculars.

  • Watch the many streetshows that occur, often dependent on the area. For example, there is a Chinese mythology show in Chinatown, and a Trolley Sing-A-Long near the Downtown.

  • Take the trolley around town.

  • Attend a live art auction in the St. Denis Art Museum. All art is delivered to guests at the end of their journey.

  • Visit the brilliant (but crazy) Marko Dragic's Laboratory in live show and witness his first experiments in robotic intelligence!

  • Play in one of the old factories, recently converted into a 4th of July Arcade.

  • Join the St. Denis Police Force in The Night Watch, tracing rumors of a masked individual sucking victim's blood at the stroke of midnight (a reference to the Vampire found in the game at night).

  • At the far end of the city are a series of ranches; here you partake in real horseback riding lessons, with a verified instructor.

  • Reserve a spot on the Grand Korrigan Casino Boat, which sets off every night for an exciting cruise around Flat Iron Bay.

  • Meet many characters around the city, who can asks for guests to "find" certain items for them around the city. This works similar to treasure maps, but is more of a scavenger hunt given the high density of the city.

  • Watch the waterfront Fourth of July Spectacular the final night of guests' visit, providing a conclusion to their journey.
