Organizing for Success: Complete a couple of the tasks for Legs 1, 2 and 3.
Match with others to form a squad.
What are key dates?
Deadline to form and register a 4-person squad: April 15. Space is limited. After that, watch the leaderboard to see how your squad is doing!
Individuals, by contrast, get till April 30 to register and they will be placed into the Joiner/Substitute Pool until they are matched to a Captain.
All begin the race in March and April and start moving ahead in the pack with Legs 1 and 2 described here.
Plan your schedule for May 9 to accomplish Leg 3!
Watch for the chance to buy a navy baseball cap with our logo on it. Order form coming soon.
Who can participate? Cornell Club Active Dues-paying Members who become Squad Captains may invite non-Cornell Club members such as spouses, kiddos, significant others, and new friends they meet at CCW events.
Squads are initially formed by a Squad Captain with 3-4 members in mind, but can add more that we pull from the Joiner/ Substitute Pool on Race Day, May 9, or beforehand if needed. RACE Organizers are keeping a list of registered "individuals" wishing to join the team of a Squad Captain, so inquire at the following e-mail address if it helps round out your Squad:

Attending helps Squad captains track their obligations listed for Legs 1, 2 and 3. Attending an interest meeting is optional for other members of your squad, but it can be useful and fun to attend.
Squad Captains must be members of the Cornell Club, please, order to facilitate seemless communication. If you register as an "individual" who does not yet have a squad captain, you should attend an interest meeting whereby we can match you to a Squad Captain.
Interest Meetings #1-4: have passed. We had wonderful folks (some new to town) show up and they are looking for squad partners at opportunities below!
March 26: Cornell Club has an "Explore DC" Happy Hour at Navy Yard and THAT will be a place to recruit for your squad!
Watch for a run/walk/meet-up opportunity on Cornell Club's running's club's emerging schedule. There's a WhatsApp link there to hear even more chatter. Possible Locations: National Mall at the usual location posted, or Alexandria's Waterfront at Zola's boardwalk, or Rock Creek Park at a specified and easy to find location. (If we can assign a committed greeter 2 or more weeks prior (suggestion: Saturday morning at 9 am), we can get it on the CCW Events Calendar for broad reach, but Maggie cannot be there.)
Interest Meeting #5 by Zoom: Tentatively Monday April 6, tentatively at the noon lunch hour. Watch for a 40 minute Zoom link listed here in very early April if we can pull it off. Tell Maggie if you want and will attend this meeting by emailing communityservice @ cornellclubdc .org [no spaces]
Interest Meeting #6 by Zoom: (Saturday, April 18 at 9 am). Need the Zoom link? email Maggie at communityservice @ cornellclubdc .org [no spaces]
