Below, I'm putting some books and magazines that featured Yaz through the years before I return to post career cards.

I scanned this mag years ago with two scans and used some program to piece them together. I don't think I could do it now. I'd probably just take a picture of it.

Now back to some post career cards and I'll note this: On Baseball Card Database, I see that they recognize over 26,600 Yaz cards. (Yeah, really).  Less than 500 of them were issued during his career. 26,100 plus cards issued after he retired. Too be sure, about 17,000 of those were in 2025 and most of those are autographed one of a kind cards but still, that leaves about 9,400 plus post-career cards. I do not pursue most of these cards. I am a vintage card collector. However, since I have a Yaz collection separate from my sets collection, Yaz cards come to me. I love the cards that do come my way but have other targets to spend my limited budget on. 

I managed to acquire Yaz tribute cards from some 80's and early 90's sets that I been working on before I switched back to hunting mostly vintage. Once I announced I was trying to put together a Yaz collection, my friends at OBC, (Old Baseball Cards),  donated all the odd Yaz cards they could mail to me. Thus, the below cards are part from me and a large part from OBC. While most of my Yaz searching is looking for missing O-Pee-Chee, Bazooka or odd Topps subset cards, later cards donated by OBC are always appreciated and will be proudly displayed down here. I probably don't have room for 26,100 of them though.

Baseball Card Database lists these with two variations, color and not color but they are referring to the fronts where the trim and lettering around the photo is black and red line with a white background and a black and white photo, (not color), or the black, blue and red filled in borders on a white background card with a color photo on the more modern players and black and white on the older players. I do not have the non-color card yet. Above you see two versions of the color Yaz card where the backs are printed with different color ink, black or blue. I have no idea if there are other variations or not. I've not seen them listed.

The Sportflics Decade Greats was one of 3 separate sets they released in their first year.  The Hygrade set is not identified on the card. Glad someone figured it out for us.

Topps made a parallel set and called it Tiffany. Basically, they sprayed more lacquer on the front and change the card stock to white which brightened up the back color.

Hillshire Farms/Kahn's got into the baseball card promos for a little bit.                        These aren't really cards but an advert for the mail-in Bench and Yaz coins.

Yaz appeared on Kahn's packaging in the early 80's, distibuted in the Baltimore/Washington area. The nearby, (Boston), superstar's Polish heritage made him a great spokesperson for Polish sausages. These are a bit out of chronological order but I decided to lump the sausages together.

Donruss made sure this artwork of Yaz was fully presented. Their regular set had the Yaz Perez-Steele art on a card with a bio on back. The Best of the AL, Best of the NL and Donruss: The Rookies factory sets had a mini puzzle replica of the larger puzzle, that was inserted into packs. A piece of the larger puzzle inserted as 3 pieces per card that was inseted in the regular sets and packs is shown below. The back of the mini puzzle is blank unless you count the die-cuts as something to look at.

Donruss's Diamond Kings puzzle for 1990 featured Carl Yastrzemski. There are 21 cards with 63 pieces. Like I did with the 1968 puzzle Topps put out, I am only displaying the piece showing his face. Also, these came in two variations, some with decimal points before the numbers and some without. My pieces are mixed. This one it without.

Score's 1992 tribute to Yaz beat the shit out of their '88 & '89 Magic Motion cards. They all focus on the same year, 1967.

Front Row Premium's 1993 cards were 100, 5-card sets of All-Time Great players. I'm not sure how many of the 5-card sets were actually made, My 2000 Standard Catalog only lists 36, one of which is Yaz.

They weren't licensed so team names and initials are airbrushed. The photos on the back of the cards are all the same photo. The photos on the front are nice but look strange lacking the team name and logo.

Four different card companies contributed a card each to this tribute to Carl Yastrezemski that was acquired by redeeming baseball card wrappers at the manufacturers tables at the All-Star Game FanFest in Boston, 1999. This Topps contribution was a reprint of Yaz's rookie card.

Well, it appears that Upper Deck made their way into Yaz's closet and snatched one of his old uniforms, cut it into bite-sized pieces, glued the pieces to cards, made the cards about a dozen different colors, limited the number of each color made and put serial numbers on them. Baseball cards are so much more than bubblegum now.

Produced by Fleetwood Comunications Co. It contains interviews with Yaz, friends, family, managers and opponents conducted by sports broadcaster Larry Claflin that chronicle the career of Yax as well as recordings of play by play announcers Curt Gowdy and Ken Coleman from the games they announce. Highlights include Yaz's 400th home run and 3000th hit. I have not unsealed this album. I may have the urge someday to do so. I think there is another Yaz album out there somewhere. I thought I saw one at a show but thought I already had it but later found out it was different than this one. Again, as you can see, I've shrunk the image.

This poor example of a 1968 Topps poster has been relegated to the end of the photos. It is not set to scale either. It is quite big and is pretty much unstorable. They came folded up and were meant to fall apart on your wall. This one came close.
