Q: What is the purpose of The Welding Vault?
A: The Vault will provide an online archive created by Area 30 Career Center welding students containing various web based Research projects, articles, SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), Interview notes, etc.
Q: How do I begin this Web Quest?
A: Simply choose one of the five topics listed above under the "Topics" tab and using the Weblink Starters begin researching content that you believe will benefit another student who may access the Vault.
Q: How do I submit my finished work?
A: All submissions will be uploaded to a shared Google Drive folder. A link to the folder is provided in the Research tab above. Permission to use the folder will need to be granted before submissions can be uploaded.
Q: When will I see my research posted on the website?
A: All submissions will be reviewed by your fellow welding students for grammar, spelling, proper MLA citation, and proper intellectual property usages have been verified. If inaccuracies exist, you will receive an email detailing the issues. Once addressed resubmit your final work for verification. If all problems are resolved the research project will become a permanent addition to The Welding Vault.
Q: How will my work be graded?
A: Under the tab labelled "Rubric", you will find a detailed explanation of the expectations for each assignment. A perfect score is 30 points.
Q: Where did the Standards come from listed on the home page?
A: The Standards are directly from the Department of Education (DOE) Welding Technology and the ISTE Standards for STUDENTS.
