This site was created to explore the use of UFLI foundations in the classroom to help support early literacy development in first grade. I chose this focus because many first grade students struggle with decoding and blending which directly impacts their fluency and also their confidence as readers.

Foundational literacy skills have been found to be critical in primary grades and UFLI offers a structured resource-based approach that provides students with explicit, systematic phonics instruction in a multi sensory way. This hub higlights what UFLI is, how I use it in my classroom and resources that other teachers can use for their instruction.
